Beginner - which flute?

edited December 2015 in General discussions
Hi, my 9 year old daughter is starting flute lessons with her school. She will start with a group lesson and will then have private lessons if she likes. No need to purchase her a flute but don't want to spend a fortune if she then doesn't like.

I have seen a Western Concert 16 Closed Holes Flute ( Key C Silver Plated Cupronickel Tube) which is roughly what I want to pay. However I realise you usually get what you pay for and wanted to know whether this would be difficult to play for a beginner .

Any help would be appreciated

Regards Sarah
